Cutter Gallery logoUPDATED Nov. 19: A landscape exhibit opened in October at the Cutter Galley, 611 Mass. Ave.; the opening reception for "Nature's Canvas, A Journey Through Landscapes," took place Oct. 14. Viewings were open at various times throughout the rest of the month into November.

The exhibit's closing reception was held Saturday, Nov. 18. From 2 to 5 p.m. that day, those interested are invited to view paintings created by local artist Stephen Joseph. A series of landscapes all were created to showcase an appreciation for nature.

Joseph detailed his intentions behind this exhibit in a written statement posted to the gallery website:

"My art is a reflection of the deep appreciation I have for the outdoors and my desire to present its beauty in my paintings. I aspire to awaken the viewers' appreciation for nature, urging them to slow down and embrace the grace that often goes unnoticed amidst our bustling routine. In the simple act of gazing at a landscape, I hope they can experience a moment of tranquility, a rejuvenation of the spirit and an understanding of our profound connection to nature."

According to the gallery website, Joseph is an Arlington resident, a psychotherapist of 35 years and a part-time landscape painter. Learn more about the exhibition and the Cutter Gallery here >>
