AIFF logoUPDATED May 18: The Arlington International Film Festival (AIFF) recently solicited entries for its 2024 event -- Nov. 7 through Nov. 20 at the Capitol Theatre -- and the deadline to submit was Friday, May 18.

A recent newsletter from the Arlington Commission for Arts and Culture (ACAC) says the festival, continuing annually since 2010, highlights the town's appreciation for different cultures by exploring the lives of people around the globe through independent film, according to its mission statement.

Feature-length and short films were eligible to be submitted. National and international filmmakers are welcome to apply and local filmmakers are especially encouraged.

Filmmakers of any experience level could submit their work.

Submissions for the festival began back in March and ran through the end of April, according to the AIFF website. Submissions entered for the May deadline are considered "late entries" but will still be considered.

Submission fees are expected to be waived for student filmmakers.
