"National Coffee With a Cop Day" usually occurs the second Wednesday of October. But this year, at least in Arlington, it was scheduled earlier and on a Saturday, according to the town website.

So, from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, 2023, residents werd invited to the police department headquarters, 112 Mystic St. The event will include free refreshments including coffee and pastries of an unspecified type.

This annual observance was in partnership with the Arlington Rotary Club; its purpoose is to encourage residents to meet and speak with the police chief and the officers in a friendly, informal setting, according to the town website. Asking questions and sharing concerns were highly encouraged.
